Sweetly Broken, Sweetly Held~

Whether you are into New Year's
resolutions or not,
I think it's pretty normal
to examine the last year,
look at your accomplishments,
think about it with
a joyful heart or a huge sigh of relief
that it is over~(or both :)
I'm working ever so slowly on
my 2011 post....and hope to have it done
soon. Alot happened in '11
although the  year brought some strange relief and
huge burden lifted, it did not go by without
some scary, long days of the unknown.
Someone asked me what worship song would sum
up where I am right now..I would say this sums up the year!

Sweetly Broken
would sum up 2011 for
my heart,
my soul,
my marriage,
our family~
At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I'm sweetly broken, wholly surrendered
"In the Last Days," God says,
"I will pour out my Spirit
on every kind of people:
Your sons will prophesy,
also your daughters;
Your young men will see visions,
your old men dream dreams.
When the time comes,
I'll pour out my Spirit
On those who serve me.....
Before the Day of the Lord arrives,
the Day tremendous and marvelous;
And whoever calls out for help
to me, God, will be saved."

Acts 2:17-21

Sweetly Broken
(Jeremy Riddle)
To the cross I look, to the cross I cling
Of its suffering I do drink
Of its work I do sing
For on it my Savior both bruised and crushed
Showed that God is love
And God is just
At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I'm sweetly broken, wholly surrendered
What a priceless gift, undeserved life
Have I been given
Through Christ crucified
You've called me out of death
You've called me into life
And I was under Your wrath
Now through the cross I'm reconciled
In awe of the cross I must confess
How wondrous Your redeeming love and
How great is Your faithfulness

Predictions for 2011~ His Word Endures Forever~

Ten Predictions for 2011

With so much uncertainty in this world it's easy for fear to overtake me sometimes. Walking through the tough stuff of life, watching friends deal with the unimaginable situations and realizing again and again that we have no control over what life holds for us. This is my first memory verse for 2011

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Ps. 73:26

I did not write these but a friend sent these to me. Powerful, truth, comforting..on Christ the solid Rock I stand!

1. The Bible will still have all the answers.

2. Prayer will still be the most powerful thing on Earth..

3. The Holy Spirit will still move.

4. God will still honor the praises of His people.

5. There will still be God-anointed preaching.

6. There will still be singing of praise to God.

7. God will still pour out blessings upon His people.

8. There will still be room at the Cross.

9. Jesus will still love you.

10. Jesus will still save the lost when they come to Him.

Isn't It Great To Remember Who Is Really In Control,
And that;
"the Word of the Lord endures forever."
 1 Peter 1:25

The Second Half of 2010~

Ok, where was I?
Finishing off my "scrapbook" of 2010
soooo....

August brought:
A road trip to Cali,

Amusement parks,

While in Cali we
celebrated my brother's bday,

visiting friends

and saying goodbye to my boy! TEARS!

September:
Molly turned 16

SURPRISE!

October:
Haley turned 12!

November:
My PARTAY month! Celebrated 41~

My awesome friends took me out for the night~

AND

My brother and sis flew me to LA for my bday!
 FUN FUN!

Tim came home after 3 long months (for Thanksgiving)

AND of course DECEMBER~

and my Mom's bday~

I have no idea why this is so small....but look at my cute parents!
This only touches on the highlights of the year. It was
definitely a year of growing, stretching, trusting and
a year of surrender and a reminder that our God is
faithful, our God is huge and our God overwhelms
this family with HIS love ON A DAILY BASIS!
So bring it on 2011~ looking ahead expectantly for new things from HIM~

The Best of 2010, The First Half~

I haven't scrapbooked all year and this is my weak effort
to sum up what our year has been like!
It is taking me a bit so I have divided it in half~
January-July :)

January brought a little of this...

SKIING!
Tim and Molly behind me on the ski lift~
February is a party month in the middle of a dreary winter:

 We celebrated him
The big 41!

And my dad's birthday
And one of bff's  ROBIN'S bday
And Valentine's Day
And Ground Hogs Day (not really)

March was a long month with a fun road trip at the end.

We got to watch my bro accomplish this,
 LA MARATHON...pretty inspiring!!

and my boy made one last college visit and made his final decision,

oh and in the middle of that, I got to see me kindred
spirit, cousin, aka little sister, bff Nicole and her boy.

April: Easter

May: Said goodbye to teaching elementary and moved to a new counseling position!!

June: Watching my firstborn graduate

July: My first tat, Tim's accident, camping and
sweet family, (other favorite cousin) from Ohio came for a visit! Busy month!

six of us went and did something c-r-a-z-y!
(including my mom :)

Family!

A complete miracle Tim was unharmed!
A week after this, he got his first tattoo, "God is my only security"

TO BE CONTINUED!!

Wow, that's alot to cram into six months.
But I think I like this better than scrapbooking..no mess to clean up! ha!
More tomorrow!

ABIDE (trust, love, faith and more)

In 2011 I will:
ABIDE:
to remain stable and fixed in a state!
I like the sound of that.
To press in,
To draw near,
To stay close,
To ABIDE!
That is my word for 2011
and in 2011 I will....

*Look for the Holy in the ordinary moments of my day!

*Work on being present!

*I will view each day as an adventure, planned by God, my Guide.

*Instead of staring into the day, with my check list of things to get done, I will be attentive to HIM and all the HE has prepared for me!

*I will trust that He is with my each moment whether I sense His presence or not.

*Be more thankful and trusting! Life lived close to Him is never dull!

*ABIDE..no matter how long and hard the road is, the safest place is right next to HIM! ABIDING!

*Store up relationships, not treasures.

For 2011 I will

*Live like I serve a God that makes the ordinary life extraordinary and live like I serve a God that is capable and waiting to pour that out upon me!

Paul, in his letter to the Romans talked about becoming a “living sacrifice.” The translation of Romans 12:1 from The Message says it nicely:

Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

This is our family verse for 2011! As a family, we are thanking God for what He has brought us through in 2010 and looking ahead for what He has for us in 2011~

“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.”
Thornton Wilder
