Helpless

This week we have seen complete devastation rock Haiti, after an earthquake that has believed to have killed well over 50,000 people. There are no words to even utter while watching the news coverage the last few days. The look on each face and the fear the resonates in each picture, is heart breaking. Many of us would do anything to tangibly help these broken hearted people. Many prayers have been prayed over the last 4 days....people are rising up and organizations are working like crazy to get money and supplies together. I just saw one organization alone has already raised over $1 million to help aid Haiti! That's amazing! Darren and I just talked tonight for the first time, about what WE will do specifically, besides continuing to pray...we are starting local. A co-worker is on her way to the airport right now to pick up her son and his wife. They are arriving from Haiti. They are coming back to America with only the clothes on their back. I think we'll start there...working along side the school and everyone that will be pitching in to help this couple get re-established....heart-wrenching....but comforting to know, nothing surprises our GOD! Help these people, Jesus!

"Anyone who sets himself up as "religious" by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. " James 1:27
