Whatever He Does Prospers!

My fourth grade class has been memorizing Psalm 1 over the last few weeks. Nothing makes me smile more than hearing children recite scripture. 25 little face staring at me, speaking God's Word and saying it like they mean every word. And they do! Oh, Lord, give us a heart like a child!  We have broken up the scripture and talked about what it means to walk in the counsel of the wicked and what it's like when chaff is blowing in the wind....and most of all...what it means to meditate day and night on the law of the Lord! We also drew a picture of a tree and what the roots look like when the go deep into the water. Children are so creative in their thoughts and I love our conversations during Bible time. I could teach and talk about God's Word all day ! Oh and I love my job!

 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
Psalm 1:1-6

This is beautiful that you are teaching little ones to hide His Word in their hearts. I memorized that scripture when I was first married and God has brought those words to my mind many times since then. It is a beautiful passage with beautiful imagery.

Thank you for sharing...
Blessings...

I love your post for several reasons. First, Psalm 1 is one of my favorites. Secondly, I also teach at a Christian school. It is certainly a privilege, isn't it? Thirdly, your enthusiasm for sharing God's Word is contagious.
