Astonishing Ways!

holy experienceI asked the Lord to use me. To make me HIS instrument, HIS hands and feet...all the while, keeping my own agenda, schedule and boundaries. Don't get me wrong, I love praying with another woman, I love sending a note of encouragement, an email filled with scripture or a phone call or text letting them know I am praying for them. BUT, so often I find myself picking and chosing "who" I will be ministering to...the ones that are approachable, the ones that are lovable, the ones that "want" to be helped....If I am going to be fully used, fully surrendered, fully emptied of myself...I will love with ABANDON and watch for HIM to pour His blessings out in astonishing ways! I want to be ready for anything and everything...I want to throw caution to the wind....(which means, going out of my comfort zone or turning from my agenda) and waiting for HIM to be more than extravagant with me! USE ME IN WAYS I CAN'T IMAGINE, FATHER!!

God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you're ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done.
As one psalmist puts it,

He throws caution to the winds,
giving to the needy in reckless abandon.
His right-living, right-giving ways
never run out, never wear out.
This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.
2 Corinthians 9:8-11 (Msg)

These are very good thoughts. It is so easy to love the loveable and even for me, I am ashamed to say, one who will also minister to me...i.e. What will I get out of the relationship?

But, oh, God wants us to love without abandon. And really, if I am honest, I can really be unloveable at times. But oh, how He loves me...very convicting, very comforting!
