Fun Things Wednesday

HAPPY HUMP DAY!
Today I'm just doing a fun post about FUN WEDNESDAY!
Join us!
My favorite energy drink,
I love Advocare and truly believe it got
me through my training to run my first half marathon in April!!
Do you have a favorite "pick me up" drink (besides coffee ; )
Have you been SPARKED?
I love spending time here and I love
even more..getting gift cards of LOVE in the mail
from one of my favorite soul sisters KELLI ; )
Sweet surprises like that just bless my socks off..ha!

Here is my favorite Bible treasure I came across this week!
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14
This sums up our entire calling as a Christ follower! I have had many conversations lately about the return of Christ, when it will be, are we in the end times, when will we see Him face to face?? Here we go, my friends!! When we tell the whole world..all nations..THEN THE END WILL COME!! Let's get busy!

This is the second Radical book by David Platt.
I wrote about the first one here.
Unleashing the people of God for the people of God!
Also a great read if you are looking for a book that encourages you to take the leap!

The last two things are just for fun and two things that I LOVE but will probably not do-or wear!
My friend Beth, has a cute little nose ring and I want one so bad! It's so little and darling!
I'm just not able to wear it to work...or I would have one tomorrow ; )
(with a tat on my foot..ha)
I can't wait to get some of this for my girls! They have been dying to try it!
Crackle nail polish! Again, looks fun but I prob won't wear black polish!

Happy Hump Day!
What fun things make you happy?

Radical~ Because We Are Called to Love Our Enemies~

Looking for a good, rock your world, shake up your faith, change your views, renew your mind, draw you in, dig deeper, cry for more, surrender it all, ask for more, work toward change type of book this summer?
RADICAL is for you!
I started this book weeks ago and I'm still reading it!
I have to take it in small doses, ponder it, chew on it, put it down
and think about it! Do some of us really
have the wrong view of church?
Wrong goal, motivation, method? YES!! Including me!
I am only on Chapter 4 but I highly
  recommend it!
"If we were left to ourselves with the task of taking the gospel to the world, we would immediately begin planning innovative strategies and plotting elaborate schemes. We would organize conventions, develop programs, and create foundations… But Jesus is so different from us. With the task of taking the gospel to the world, he wandered through the streets and byways…All He wanted was a few men who would think as He did, love as He did, see as He did, teach as He did and serve as He did. All He needed was to revolutionize the hearts of a few, and they would impact the world."
David Platt (Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream)

It's a Daily Thing~

Wow, I am behind on this blogging thing, but it has been a week of partying and celebrating our boy~ I have much to write about and thoughts to process..thoughts about watching my first born go through this huge step. EXCITING and PROUD overtakes the sadness of time passed!!

God has given us a beautiful journey. I know, I know,
parenting this boy will never be "finished" but it will be different....
a whole new dynamic, I should say.
Although, over the years, I have been on my knees many, many nights,
frustrated with the parent that I was that day,
or discouraged because I wasn't seeing the "fruit" so to speak,
but really, God has made it a fun, exciting journey with this boy!
It has very little to do with what
great parents we have been but so much more to do with the fact
that from the very first moment we knew we would be parents, we gave him back!
What does that mean? More than anything,
it means we realized he is a gift,
loaned to us, for a short time. We have ONE chance to do
this right and the only
way to do it "right" is daily, daily, daily praying for him,
with him, over him etc!
Our job, as parents, is to continually lead them back to Jesus!

This is just ONE of the many books that have helped and guided me
through the parenting year!
Do you have it?
If not, GET IT!!
Filled with scripture to pray over your kids daily!

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more
in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern
what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ!

Phil. 1:9-10

It's All in Your Prospective

This is where I would like to be
on this rainy, cold Friday!
At Upstart Crow, a coffeehouse/bookstore
in San Diego! We spent many afternoons
here studying (sorta)
and spending hours just reading. The best part?
Right outside those doors is the ocean!!
A bookstore, coffee shop and ocean~
My heaven~

INSTEAD....
I will be going to a Speech Meet
to watch this little peanut give a
speech on James 5....
Which will be just as fun~
Just as my heart was beaming
because my child was reciting scripture..
she told me she is only doing this
because dad promised her
Chinese food for lunch.
Humbling, I tell ya!
