Refocusing

holy experience

Last night I had my Sunday anxiousness, (which is something I do not like about myself and I am working on) I looked at my calendar and all that needs to be done this week, the people that I need to meet with, the meetings I have at school, the bible study, youth group, etc. A cloud of negativity came over me and instantly, my mind went to our series that we have been studying at church and the exact passage Darren preached on yesterday....

Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Phil. 4:5-6

I woke up thinking of verses that I could claim and "wear" today...verses that take my heart and my mind to HIM. I want to live, eat and breath HIM! I want the aroma of Jesus to be all around me. This morning gave me a fresh new perspective on this week. What is HE going to do this week in me? All of this starts with cultivating a heart of thankfulness....being intentional...keeping our eyes open to HIS abundant love and looking around at all HE has given me.

* My son leaving me a little note of love and some breakfast on my classroom desk
*Darren running some Dayquil out to my school
*My parents celebrating 41 years of marriage today!
*Dinner with friends (sushi : )
* Coffee with a "new" friend
* Games with my kids while the superbowl is playing in the background
*praying over my daughter that has had a particularly hard day
*Talking to my son about his future.
* Seeing the sun shine in my kitchen window during a break in the rain
*Listening to my kids laughing an hour after I've said "goodnight"
* An awesome family day yesterday
*Date night Friday night
*Seeing my youngest read her Bible before bed
* Knowing that when we don't have the answers we have a GREAT COUNSELOR that does!
